OUR VISION

To CONNECT people to Christ and His Community

  • “I am the Vine, you are the branches. When you’re joined with me and I with you, the relation intimate and organic, the harvest is sure to be abundant. Separated, you can’t produce a thing.” John 15:5 MESSAGE
  • “All the believers were together and had everything in common. Selling their possessions and goods, they gave to anyone as he had need. Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved." Acts 2:43-47

To GROW authentic, maturing Christ-Followers

  • “A student is not above his teacher, but everyone who is fully trained will be like his teacher.” Luke 6:40
  • “If you continue in My word, you really are My disciples. You will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” John 8:31-32 HCSB

To HEAL the hurts & hindrances to Growth in Christ & His community

  • “Heal the sick who are there and tell them, ‘The kingdom of God is near you.’" Luke 10:9
  • “The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he has anointed me to bring good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim release to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to let the oppressed go free, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor.”  Luke 4:17-19 NRSV (Isaiah 61)

To look outward & REACH people with the love, power & truth of Christ

  • “Come and see a man who told me everything I have ever done! He cannot be the Messiah, can he?” John 4:29 NRSV
  • “go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” Matthew 28:19-20

OUR STAFF & LEADERS

Bob & Becky Branch, Senior Pastor bob@thespringscc.org

BIO: Bob Branch grew up in southern states, and moved to Colorado in his early teens, where he came to know Christ in a dynamic way. He holds a BSBA in Finance and Marketing from the University of Denver, and did his post-graduate work at Fuller Seminary ( Pasadena, CA), and Gordon-Conwell Seminary ( Hamilton, MA).

He moved out to Massachusetts to marry Becky, and helped plant a church there. The lead planting pastor, Kenn Gulliksen, felt it was God's call to turn the leadership of the church over to Bob, and go plant another church. Bob took over the Metrowest church ( Boston), a fledgling church of 140 people and pastored it for 9 years. During that time the church grew to close to 600 people. Today that church still carries on a dynamic ministry in the western metro area of greater Boston. Bob makes his home in the Temecula Valley, where he and his wife of 24 years, Becky, raise their 4 children (Daniel 18, Hannah 16, Charis 14, and Becca 10).

He enjoys his family, good northern Italian food, "adventure" food, good jokes, computers, football (Broncos & Patriots), baseball (Red Sox nation), basketball, and plays (enthusiastically, but not well) golf, guitars (acoustics, strats & les pauls), and is learning how to surf.

OUR STORY

Told by our founding pastor, Bob Branch: After pastoring a church outside Boston, MA for almost 10 years, we felt that we needed to take some time off from ministry, and work on life back on the home front. Ministry can be very taxing on a marriage, and too often the family pays the price. During that time, I worked for several hi-tech companies (Lotus Development, The Future Now), and spent the rest of my time focusing on the family.

After moving to Anaheim Hills in 1994, God began to stir our hearts again toward reaching out to people that do not know Jesus. Several months later, a few friends mentioned that the Temecula Valley was growing rapidly and might be a good place to start a church. Our initial thought was “NO” as church planting can be risky and painful. But the Lord would not leave us alone. He spoke through a wide variety of means, and finally confirmed it all with Jeremiah 31 ... “coming from the north... finding favor in the desert... planting vineyards... bringing people from the ends of the earth... watching over the flock like a shepherd... turning our mourning into dancing...”

We came down in the Fall of 1995 with no team and no resources,... only a strong sense that this was what God wanted. We initially gathered about 12 people, and began meeting in a home. Shortly thereafter, another church closed up and offered us the place where they were meeting: the Temecula Community Rec. Center. The Springs continued to slowly grow into a people over the months and years that followed.

During 2003, the Lord began to stir the leadership at The Springs to find a permanent home, and so a search began. At the end of 2004, on the Sunday right before Christmas, The Springs moved into it’s present location on Winchester Road.

The Lord has been good to us, from our humble beginnings to a church now of more than 250 people, a community, a family of people committed to God, each other and to reaching and serving our city and the world. Come and join us as we enjoy growing in God’s grace and in love for each other.
