WHAT KIND OF CHURCH IS THE SPRINGS?

Often we describe The Springs as a Rock 'n Roll Christian Church with a love for God's Spirit. That means we are a people who have come to know Jesus Christ personally and are living in vital relationship with Him every day.

We like to praise and worship God with music that is upbeat and progressive. (drums, electric guitars, etc.)... not gothic, metal, gangsta or hip hop, but rock nonetheless.

It also means we love God's Holy Spirit and ALL His gifts and make room for them in our lives and in our church life.

We are a people who love each other. We are a church that is more than friendly... we are a church of friends.

We value all generations and appreciate what each brings to the family.

We believe God is near and moves in our midst whenever we meet together. People frequently experience breakthroughs and healing at The Springs. People find hope and second chances here.

Come join us.

ACCOUNTABILITY

The Springs (and it's pastors) have a number of real-world checks and balances to keep us on track. There are 3 senior leadership teams at the church: The Elders keep us on track with our vision, oversee ministry, and hold our pastors accountable for their walk with Christ, moral uprightness, and in staying the course of where God wants us to go togther.

The Church Staff leads and directs the weekly ministries of the church and is responsible for planning, programming, and keeping the ship afloat in all of its ministry facets.

The Financial Team oversees and directs all the financial activities of the church, and is responsible for budgeting, setting salaries, and financial accountability. All offerings are counted with two people present and all checks are double signed for greater accountability.

In addition to these internal accountability structures, Bob and Don meet with a group of local pastor in the Temecula-Murrieta Valley every other week (and have done so for more than 5 years). The relationships in the group are deep, lasting and transparent... and provide a supportive framework for our pastors.

STATEMENT OF FAITH

We Believe

·... That there is One Living And True God, eternally existing in three persons, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, equal in power and glory; that this triune God created all, upholds all, and governs all.

... That the Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments are the inspired Word of God, and the infallible rule of faith and practice.

... In God The Father, an infinite, personal Spirit, perfect in holiness, wisdom, power, and love; that He concerns Himself mercifully in the affairs of mankind; that He hears and answers prayer; and that He saves from sin and death all who come to Him through Jesus Christ.

... In Jesus Christ, God’s only begotten Son, conceived by the Holy Spirit.  We believe in His virgin birth, sinless life, miracles and teachings, His substitutionary atoning death, bodily resurrection, Ascension into heaven, perpetual intercession for His people and personal visible return to earth.

... In the Holy Spirit, Who came forth from the Father and Son to convince the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment, and to regenerate, sanctify and empower for ministry all who believe in Christ; we believe the Holy Spirit indwells every believer in Jesus Christ and that He is an abiding Helper, Teacher, and Guide. We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit and in the exercise of all the Biblical gifts of the Spirit.

...That all Mankind are sinners by nature and choice and are therefore under condemnation, that God regenerates by the Holy Spirit, those who repent of their sins and confess Jesus Christ as Lord; that Jesus Christ baptizes the seeking believer with the Holy Spirit and power for service, the release of which is sometimes subsequent to regeneration.

... In the Universal Church, the living spiritual body, of which Christ is the head and all regenerated persons are members.

... That the Lord Jesus Christ committed two Ordinances to the church: baptism; and the Lord's Supper. We believe in baptism by immersion and communion open to all believers.

... Also in the laying on of hands for the baptism of the Holy Spirit, for ordination of pastors, elders and deacons, for receiving gifts of the Spirit, and for healing.

... In what is termed “The Apostle’s Creed” as embodying fundamental facts of Christian Faith.
